Havre rising senior Tommy Lewis has committed to the Montana State football program, he announced Saturday on social media.
The 6-foot-5, 300-pound offensive lineman is the Bobcats’ third known commit of the 2026 recruiting cycle, joining Kalispell Glacier quarterback Jackson Presley and Servite High School (California) O-lineman Gavin Wilkins. Lewis is a three-star recruit ranked No. 3 among Class of 2026 Montana prospects, according to 247Sports.
“It’s been a lifelong dream to play DI football,” Lewis told 406 MT Sports on Sunday. “Ever since I was like 8, I’ve been wanting to play in the Cat-Griz game (because of) what it means to Montana to play for one of these two schools.”
Lewis also got a scholarship offer from the Montana Grizzlies and received interest from the Treasure State’s Frontier Conference schools, some Mountain West Conference programs and the University of Washington, he said.

MSU’s “Montana made” culture contributed heavily to Lewis’ commitment, as did his relationships with Bobcats head coach Brent Vigen and OL coach Matt Smith, he said.
“The feeling of putting on the jersey and thinking of myself being in the game with them is unreal,” Lewis said. “It’s hard to speak about. It’s just something I feel. It felt right.”
Lewis also wrestles, plays baseball and throws for the Havre track and field program. He has a 4.0 GPA, is the student body vice president and is part of the school’s honor society.
Lewis has helped the Havre football team finish the last three seasons with winning records, including 8-4 in 2024. He’ll play offensive tackle for the Blue Ponies this coming fall but plans to line up at guard or center when he gets to Bozeman, probably because “I fit into the scheme better” at MSU as an interior lineman, he said.
“I’m pumped,” he added. “I wish I could start now.”
